Details
Spec-Seal LS is a solvent base, crystal clear, low sheen protective coating designed exclusively for decorative concrete. Spec-Seal's superior advanced penetrating formula provides a soft "water wet" appearance which enhances the natural colors of the applied surface. LS's non-yellowing barrier coating resists against food stains, gaso-line, grease, oils, acids and water. Our deep bonding formula resists peeling, chipping, cracking and UV degradation. Com-prised from the latest developments in VOC compliant high solids acrylic chemistry, LS delivers superior wear resistance and retards the formation of efflorescence. LS works great indoors or outdoors and is ideal as a joint sand stabilizer for interlocking pavers.
COVERAGE
Porous Surface : 100-250 sq.ft./gal. Dense Concrete : 300-400 sq.ft./gal.
APPLICATION
On cured concrete apply Spec-Seal LS only when the air and surface temperatures are between 50° and 90°F. On hot dry days, apply during the cooler part of the day when the concrete is shaded, in some cases overnight surface cooling is necessary. Do not apply during inclement weather, when rain is expected or in direct sunlight when temperatures exceed 80°F. Spec-Seal LS can be applied with most types of pump up spray equipment with Viton® seals, synthetic bristle brush, 3/8" or 1/2" nap roller or airless sprayer with a 0.013"-0.015" tip size. Application to a damp surface or incompletely cured concrete may cause a hazy appearance or loss of adhesion. Apply Spec-Seal LS uniformly and thinly at the recommended rate under Coverage. On porous concrete (broom finish, most imprinted surfaces), paver brick, flagstone, etc. generally one coat will provide complete protection. A second coat will provide added protection and a higher gloss. If a second coat is desired, apply as soon as the first coat is dry to the touch. After each coat, perform the Water Penetration Test. On dense concrete (hard troweled), slate, stone, etc. one light to moderate coat provides complete protection. More than one coat on a dense surface is not recommended. CAUTION: If using a roller to apply the sealer, be careful to apply in thin coats while maintaining a wet edge. Do not reroll wet areas.
